Coming Home from the Bar
I snapped this photo on the way home from the bar the other morning. What was I doing in a bar so early in the day you may ask? Having a coffee and a cornetto (croissant) of course. Here's how it goes: A caffé is what you drink in a bar and a birra or some vino is what you might drink in a pub. What the different names for restaurants are is an entirely different subject!

Do you think they say "Ciao!" a lot in Italy? Well yes they do, but you shouldn't. "Ciao!" is a friendly greeting used between friends, family members and regulars at businesses. On meeting a stranger or entering a store, one should say buon giorno or buo
